Modernization of E30 Railway Line
Section Opole – Wroclaw – Legnica – the State border
Aim of the project: complex
modernization and adaptation of line E30 on section Opole -
Wroclaw - Legnica - the State border to AGC /AGTC standards taking into account
intermodal and combined transportation as well as elimination of
some operation „bottle necks” in the international
transportation corridor which E30 Railway Line is a part of
(Corridor III Berlin/Drezden – Wroclaw – Opole – Krakow – Kiev). Final effect of the project is improvement of railway
infrastructure condition and shortening travelling time by 240
minutes.
Section Opole – Brzeg – Olawa – Wroclaw (82 km)
Role
of BPK Poznan Sp. z o.o. – performing the role of General
Designer including technical coordination of pre-design works and
design documentation prepared by other design companies and taking
part in the process of working out multi-trade design documentation
at all stages of the process, i.e construction designs, detailed
designs and tender dossier, including gaining building permit for
complex rebuilding works on the section in order to repair damages
coused by the flood, taking into account AGC/AGTC standards and
requirements of combined transportation industry as well as
intermodal transportation.
Modernization works included:
● Rebuilding of
stations: Opole Zachodnie, Dabrowa Niemodlinska (turning into a passenger stop), Lipki (turning into a passenger
stop), Olawa, Izawice (turning into a passenger stop),
● Rebuilding of
passenger stops: Chroscina, Przecza, Zebice Wroclawskie,
● Modernization of railway
routes,
● Rebuilding of engineering
objects present on the line.
The range of rebuilding works
included geometrical layout, substructure, superstructure with
drainage; railway crossings, traction network, non – traction
lines and station signalling equipment; buildings, instalations
and electric and communication equipment.
Modernization of stations included rebuilding platforms, tunnels
and other transportation routes, devices for visual and acoustic
passenger information, landscaping elements including facilities
for the disabled
Section Wroclaw Muchobor – Legnica- length 55,8 km
Role of BPK Poznan: Coordination and working
out a multi-branch design documentation at all stages of
preparation, i.e. construction and detailed designs and tender
dossier including receiving building permit ; also modernization
in order to adapt entire railway infrastructure to speed 160
km/h for passenger trains and 100 –120 km/h for freight trains.
Documentation for section Wroclaw – Legnica has been prepared in
cooperation with
BPK Katowice Sp. z o.o., Elekol S.C. (at present Arcadis Profil
Sp. zo.o.) BPK i UI Lodz, Gibb Polska Sp. zo.o. (at present
Jacobs GIBB Polska Sp. z o.o.) , CBPBBK ”Kolprojekt”, BPI Sp.
o.o. (at present Pöyry Infra Sp. z o.o.).

Wroclaw Lesnica,
● Wroclaw Lesnica – Miekinia (z p.o. Mrozow),
● Miekinia – Sroda Slaska ( z p.o. Przedmoscie Sw.),
● Sroda Slaska - Malczyce,
● Malczyce – Szczedrzykowice,
● Szczedrzykowice –Legnica (z p.o. Jaskowice Legnickie i p.odg. Wielkie Piekary)
Engineering objects:
● 10 viaducts,
● 10 bridges,
● 56 ducts,
● 7 underpasses.
30 level crossings including:
● crossings of category A – 11
● crossings of category B - 3,
● crossings of category C - 7,
● crossings of category D - 9.
In order to reach modernization goals the rebuilding of
following objects has been designed:
● Track layouts including replacement of
substructure, breakstone, beds, tracks, turnouts;
● Exterior networks and installations,
sanitary and industrial equipment;
● Level crossings with concepts of road
traffic around the liquidated crossings;
● Traction network with supporting
constructions;
● Electric equipment including power supply
devices for railway objects and other objects, outer ilumination
of stations and stops, power supply and illumination of turnouts,
electric heating of turnouts, emergency power supply for
signalling devices;
● Signalling devices with replacement and
installation of semaphores in new locations, building new
automatic line blockade and introduction on section Wroclaw –
Legnica computer signalling equipment from one signal box;
● Also increasing power of traction
substations in order to allow electric locomotives of power of
6000 kilowats;
Stations were equipped with new 200 m long
platforms, adapted for disabled persons.
Landscaping has been done and colour elevation of buildings.
