Building and detailed designs of the railway viaduct for the A-2 highway ( WK-5 structure ) located over the A-2 highway Swiecko – Warszawa at km 163 .500 in the course of the railway line Wroclaw –Poznan at km 159.083 and Staroleka –Lubon line at km 2.847 in Lubon by Poznan.

The project consisted in construction of a quasi- tunnel in the form of a number of three-span ferroconcrete frames with the total length of L= 52,5 m. Along the axis of the highway the length of the structure amounts to 140 m. The implementation of the structure directly under the existing tracks of Wroclaw –Poznan railway line and Starołęka –Lubon branch line was designed by using JBM method. The method consists in erection of the structure in parallel to the axis of existing tracks and crosswise shift of the finished viaduct into the axis of the track spacing. The structure was erected on the assembly construction in the form of slab constituting also an anchoring element for the shifted construction. The crosswise shift of the structure was executed within the time of 72 hours’ total closure of the line. The method applied enabled considerable reduction of the duration of investment, elimination of by-pas construction or long limits in railway traffic.

The structure implemented on the grounds of the designs prepared by the Office was awarded first –degree prize in the competition “ the Construction Site of 2001 year” and the design itself won the distinction in the competition “ Engineering Design of the Year “ organised by Chamber of Construction Designing.
